Mountain View, CA - May 15, 2026 - Twin Health, the first Digital Twin Care Platform for cardiometabolic health, today announced research demonstrating that its Digital Twin Care Platform achieves an average annual savings of over $9k per member for individuals with type 2 diabetes. This significant reduction in the total cost of care was driven by reduced reliance on high-cost medications and a reduction in hospitalizations and emergency room visits. Twin will present these findings, along with additional research on the platform’s long-term effects on weight loss and cardiometabolic disease reversal and prevention, at ISPOR 2026, the leading scientific conference focused on health economics and outcomes research.
“These findings demonstrate that we can change the trajectory of cardiometabolic disease by moving beyond maintenance,” said Dr. Lisa Shah, Chief Medical Officer and Executive Vice President at Twin Health. “Twin offers a sustainable platform proven to reduce reliance on expensive medications, decrease hospitalizations and emergency room visits, and meaningfully lower the total cost of care.”
Economic Impact of an AI-Enabled Digital Twin Intervention in Type 2 Diabetes
This real-world analysis evaluated the significant positive financial impact of utilizing Twin’s Digital Twin Care Platform to treat type 2 diabetes at an employer. Within one year, the platform delivered an average annual savings of over $9,000 per member. These cost reductions were driven by a $4,690 decrease in pharmacy spend, largely through reduced reliance on high-cost diabetes medications like GLP-1s and SGLT2s, and $4,357 in medical savings from reduced hospitalizations and emergency room visits. These findings demonstrate how a AI Digital Twin combined with human clinical care can reduce the total cost of care for employees with type 2 diabetes.

Cost Savings of an AI-Enabled Digital Twin Program in Prediabetes and Healthy Weight Management
Twin will also present a 24-month real-world analysis underscoring the long-term preventative power of the Twin Digital Care Platform. The study highlights Twin's role as a precision prevention program that intervenes early to halt progression from prediabetes and obesity to type 2 diabetes and its costly downstream complications. Participants achieved an average weight loss of 16 lbs overall, with 89% sustaining their weight loss at two years, averaging 22 lbs among those who maintained. Critically, 95% of participants remained free from type 2 diabetes progression at 24 months, meaning an estimated 1 in 10 members avoided a new diabetes diagnosis compared to standard care. These clinical outcomes translated into projected savings of $7,532 per member over two years, demonstrating that early precision metabolic intervention delivers both durable health outcomes and substantial economic value for employers and health plans.

Achieving Better Health Outcomes with Lower Costs
Twin’s expert clinicians leverage real-time insights from each member’s metabolism to guide members to achieve sustainable health. These insights are powered by a personalized AI Digital Twin, constructed using real-time data from a continuous glucose monitor, smart scale, and wearable sensors. By reducing reliance on high-cost medications, such as GLP-1s, and avoiding unnecessary care utilization, Twin is a scalable, cost-effective solution for employers and health plans seeking to address the growing burden of cardiometabolic disease.
ISPOR attendees can visit Twin Health on Tuesday, May 19th, in the Exhibit Hall to discuss these findings and learn more.
About Twin Health
Twin Health is the first cardiometabolic care model built to reverse disease, prevent progression, and sustain lifelong health. Twin pairs human clinical care with AI Digital Twin that continuously learns how an individual's biology responds to their daily life. Expert clinicians use that real-time insight to guide precision decisions every day, across diabetes, healthy weight, and the full cardiometabolic spectrum. Twin has demonstrated improved cardiometabolic outcomes, reduced reliance on high-cost medications, and annualized savings of more than $9,000 per member for employers and health plans. Clinical outcomes are peer-reviewed and published in leading journals, including the New England Journal of Medicine Catalyst, and publications of the American Heart Association, American Diabetes Association, and American College of Cardiology.
